My father in law had a stroke in his late seventies and he had smoked since he was 9 years old. His GP told him that he really should give up but by doing so would probably cause more problems than resolve. Bless him he lived a further 10 years.
Every time i stop smoking cigs for a couple days i get sick... is this because my body is so used to the nicotine that it gets all whacked out of line when i dont have my fix?!?! this has happened the past three times i went more than 24 hours without a cig.... please, i am kinda worried if this is true.
Yes, you are correct. Not only does our body go "out of whack", the cilia in our lungs that is used to being coated with all of the nastiness of smoking goes into shock as it is no longer being coated. The annoying itch in the throat is a nic fit, and the runny nose is your bodies way of getting rid of the synthetic stuff it can't process.
