Please i wanna put my cousin and me off smoking lol
I really wanna stop so please help no one can put me off with advice i need to see the conciquenses
well actually, there used to be commercials on tv- real morbid ones way back-- maybe the late 80's, that were very convincing. I have to say that they don't really put those on anymore nor do I know where to get them (try youtube?) http://youtube.com/watch?v=dn50mTEGnrU <-- That video is pretty good- the guy's voice is really annoying but it shows how nasty smoking is and is totally disturbing.
Also, I know someone who smokes still who has a child and she also really wants to quit but she is addicted. All of her teeth are messed up. Everyone on her mother's side died of a smoking induced disease at 57. All of them. Thats a short life, a very short life. So try to stop, cause you only have one life to live and honestly, why would you want to waste it on breathing in toxic air on a stick? If this doesn't convince you watch this video in addition to the other one: http://youtube.com/watch?v=dn50mTEGnrU
Did you try it? Does it really work?

I've got to get this when it comes out!
My mom has been smoking ever since she was a teen. I hate it that she smokes!!! In health at school we watched a few videos of true things that happed to people and some of them ended up dying. I've tried to get my mom to stop, but nothing works. No matter how many times she's yelled at me or cussed me out i still love her and I dont want her to die. How can I get her to stop?
It's practically impossible to get people that are addicted to nicotine to quite smoking unless they actually want to quit because it's legal and doesn't affect one's personality, so there's no rehabilitation centers for it, as far as I know, and I've never heard of anyone holding interventions for it.
What you can do, however, is ask her not to smoke around you because it affects your health if she does. You can also maybe show her some of the things that you learned about smoking, without specifically telling her to stop.
And you can always make jokes about it too, why not? If she's gonna be a witch about it, you might as well get a laugh out of it.
I already posted this in health, but I need as many opinions as I can get.
My best friend is 14, almost 15, and she's smoked before and quit but I really think she lied to me and still does it. I have some very good reasons.
So in case she is, what are some good videos, facts, etc that can convince her to quit? I really don't like it.
Show this to your friend...

Do you want a healthy lifestyle, or a smelly, smoky, lazy, one.
(PLUS, YOU WILL LIKE A LONGER AND HEALTHIER LIFE.) SO CONSIDER YOUR FAMILY AND POSSIBLY FUTURE KIDS AND FRIENDS AND ANYONE ELSE IMPORTANT TO YOU. CONSIDER YOUR DREAMS, YOUR PASSIONS, AND PURSUE THEM. I GUARANTEE SMOKING WILL DO YOU NOTHING BUT HARM.
i'm not trying to scare you or anything, i am trying my best to show you what smoking does to you and hopefully motivate you to quit. So if you thought i was trying to scare you, i wasn't.
_think about this.
Best of luck to you!! :)
Hi. I have to make a project in Biology about smoking. I've searched for information on wikipedia etc, but I also want to make a small clip in Adobe flash with the theme would be say no to smoking or stop smoking, but I'm not sure what to do, what the "scenario" would be. Any ideas?
I would do something about small children who are left parent less from smoking related diseases.

Can Eating Chocolate Reduce The Risk For Heart Disease? | LIMED ...
If your family history includes coronary heart disease, you are wise to look at ways to reduce your risk for heart disease. Coronary heart disease although affected by genetic makeup, is also related to your lifestyle.
Think of the more common risk factors for coronary heart disease:
* Cigarette smoking – a lifestyle choice
* Elevated cholesterol – in part, a lifestyle choice
* High blood pressure – affected by life choices
* Obesity – resulting from lifestyle choices
* Prolonged periods of inactivity – a lifestyle choice
You probably know that changes to your lifestyle can readily reduce the risk for heart disease. Such changes do not require a physician’s help, although you will want to seek your physician’s advice. Nor do actions to reduce the risks of heart disease require participation in a program.
