stop smoking patch

Tomorrow is me and my husband's set date to stop smoking. I'm going to pick up some stop smoking patches today. Do you think there's a difference between the Nicoderm CQ patch and the much cheaper generic Equate brand patch?

No, there isn't. Check the boxes when you get there. The ingredients are exactly the same. The Equate box will say "Compare to NicoDerm CQ." They can't say that unless the ingredients are exactly the same.

I need to quit smoking. Im using the nicoderm CQ patch. with awsome results!! day one.

If you have never smoked before, is it bad to use a Nicoderm patch?

Not really

There is a danger you may get some side effects. The patches contain nicotine, which is a drug like alcohol, caffiene e.t.c, and people not used to it can get nauseas, dizy or slightly light headed after smoking for the first time, but I'm not sure if this due to the nicotine or other chemicals in cigarette smoke.

healthwise, nicotine can damage your arteries, increasing your isk of a heart attack, but nicoderm pattches don't have any tar or other cancer causing chemicals of cigarettes, and uthe impact of using a patch only once is very very tiny.

You can do it without the patch!
I've tried just about every method there is out there and there is only one I can recommend - NLP! It eliminates the cravings.
Gum patches and all the other just did not cut it for me, not to mention cold turkey which was the hardest, I even tried the electric cig and it is just no match to the real thing.

Well first of all, if your smoking 1.5 packs per day thats costing you at least $3-$7 so you will save money in the long run. Not to mention it will save your health and possibly prevent some serious medical bills. Patches are not that expensive, a box of patches usually costs less than a carton of cigs, and at your smoke rate that would be gone in a week or less.

Second talk to your employer, especially if they are paying for your insurance they DO want you to quit because it will save them money.

Third, Ive heard this works, but never seen it done:

If you are a smoker and you want to quit:

1. Go to the store and buy 2 packs of the cheapest cigs available

2. Go to your usual smoking spot and lock yourself in there.

3. Smoke the 2 packs you just purchased as fast as possible one after another until you either:

a. Throw up
b. Never want to smoke again.

And I have heard it works wonders!

If you are really serious in the giving up business, do not buy any of this cheating toys.

Nicotine is no food or drink your body really needs.

Just give up.

Trust me it is not that hard.

The much bigger problem is the alcohol.
