Commit Lozenge and My commit to stop smoking?

Hey you fellow smokers? I'm going to quit smoking in 6 days as this is all the packs of cigs I have left and I don't want to buy anymore. Any luck with you in regards to quitting and using this product? I have tootsie roll pops galore awaiting my first urge to snack, I have a bike for exercising and touring the city, I have a support system (friends who don't smoke), and I have a 12 step program (another problem I deal with) that I go to meetings 3-5 a week. Have you any further ideas for me to make this my LAST TIME for quitting? I would appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks again.


HURRAY!! Your quiting smoking!!! That's a tough one. I know! I haven't smoked in two years. I started with the patch and moved to the gum, which I chewed for a year... :) I stopped that and got an urge to smoke again and started chewing the gum again. I know bad....

Does anyone know if it is legal to sell Commit Lozenges (stop smoking aid) on Craigslist in New York state?

I bought the mint flavor accidentally and I HATE mint, but stores do not accept returns or exchanges of nicotine products. These cost a lot of money!!

Commit Stop Smoking Lozenges. Any experiences I'd love to hear about please?

I havent smoked in a week (not exactly by choice though)
I had neck surgery....and was told that it would interfere with the healing if I smoke. Long story...blablablah...

Anyway, if I havent had nicotene in my system for over a week would it be a bad idea to start the lazanges now? Or should I just tough it out and leave the nicotene out of my system?

Forgot to mention that the first 3 days was a bit of cheating since I laid in the hospital bed in agony doped up on pain shots! But it HAS been *day 7 without nicotene as of today... :)
BUT it seems as though the cravings are REALLY starting to kick in stronger now that I'm feeling a little better and am at home now...

it takes 4 days for nicotine to leave your system. if you want to quit smoking, i say tough it out. mom is right though, chantix works. that's how i quit too!

I'm in the same boat you are. What those pamphlets tell you is to recognize the triggers that make you want a cigarette. Big ones are being in the car and after meals for me. So I started by not smoking while driving, helped me cut down considerably. Now I'm working on the post-meal cigarette. So far I've come down from a pack a day to about a pack every 3-4 days. I guess the idea for me now is to pick a date on when I'm going to quit and stick to it.

Also try convincing yourself that cigarettes taste gross. That worked well for a friend of mine (but she also found out she was pregnant, so that helped a bit too!)

I also find that taking quick, sharp breaths when I feel a cigarette craving coming on help out a lot! I think it mimics the inhalation process of smoking (duh, because I AM inhaling...)

You can try thinking of the money and the health issues, but I never had any luck with them. I could always find a way to justify the need to buy another pack, and if I was that worried about the health issues (I know, I should be) I'd have quit already, or never started in the first place.

I also found that I had greater success if I kept it to myself that I was trying to quit. Typically I guess you're supposed to tell everyone so you feel obligated to quit, but then I just felt like I was letting everyone down if I caved in, and that made me want to smoke more.

Obviously, you'll have to figure out what works best for you. Just don't give up!
