I bought the mint flavor accidentally and I HATE mint, but stores do not accept returns or exchanges of nicotine products. These cost a lot of money!!
If they're an over-the-counter drug, no prob...If they're a prescription preparation you could get in big trouble.
Smoking has been identified as the single most preventable cause of premature death in the United States. To have a better chance of succeeding ...
I havent smoked in a week (not exactly by choice though)
I had neck surgery....and was told that it would interfere with the healing if I smoke. Long story...blablablah...
Anyway, if I havent had nicotene in my system for over a week would it be a bad idea to start the lazanges now? Or should I just tough it out and leave the nicotene out of my system?
Wat do you think???
Thanks!
Forgot to mention that the first 3 days was a bit of cheating since I laid in the hospital bed in agony doped up on pain shots! But it HAS been *day 7 without nicotene as of today... :)
Thank you for your responses so far!
The lozenges do contain nicotine, so they would be bad for healing. If you can stand to go without smoking, then do it! The lozenge are a crutch so you won't smoke, even though you HAVE to. It sounds like you are succeeding in getting over you cigarette addiction. No need to have nicotine in your system!
Hope you get healed soon and kick the cigs...

Stop using the nicotine lozenge at the end of 12 weeks. If you still feel the need to use nicotine lozenges, talk to your doctor
Stop smoking completely when you begin using the lozenge
If you are under 18 years of age, ask a doctor before use
Hey you fellow smokers? I'm going to quit smoking in 6 days as this is all the packs of cigs I have left and I don't want to buy anymore. Any luck with you in regards to quitting and using this product? I have tootsie roll pops galore awaiting my first urge to snack, I have a bike for exercising and touring the city, I have a support system (friends who don't smoke), and I have a 12 step program (another problem I deal with) that I go to meetings 3-5 a week. Have you any further ideas for me to make this my LAST TIME for quitting? I would appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks again.
HURRAY!! Your quiting smoking!!! That's a tough one. I know! I haven't smoked in two years. I started with the patch and moved to the gum, which I chewed for a year... :) I stopped that and got an urge to smoke again and started chewing the gum again. I know bad....
As a fellow 12 stepper. You can use the meetings to help with it too!
Good luck...

I've tried with the patches once but wasn't successful. Since then though I've started taking Pozac for anxiety and a nerve pill just when my anxiety is really high. Should I try the patches again or an alternative? Did you or anyone you know stop smoking with any of these programs?
Hi. I'm sucking on a lozenge right now! I feel totally relieved of the jonsing. Patches do nothing for me. I've tried everything and these are the best. I suggest getting the 4mg mint of the generic drug store brand, exactly like Commit. This will save you a ton of money. Now when you first start these, suck on a lozenge. If you do not feel like your craving is totally gone, suck a second one. I kind of kept em going every couple of hours the first week. This prevented any cheating. They come in 2mgs and 4mgs. Get the four if you're serious. Good luck and you CAN do this. I've been smoking since I was a kid and I'm 33 now. Three months smoke free and rarely jones. We are so fortunate for these lozenges. One will last for 20-45 mins. I kind of worked them voraciously, the first couple of weeks. Working them down in 20 mins. Now it takes me 45 mins to use one. Another bonus, I wanted a cigarette in a movie last night, I was the only one in the theater who got my fix, without leaving the theater. Good luck hon.
This is no joke. I've been on these things for 4 days now, not smoking at all!! I'm farting about 5 times an hour, and loudly, not little SBD's. I don't know if I should go back to smoking or just keep farting until I'm an ex smoker.
from the commit website:
Are there any side effects to taking the Commit® stop-smoking lozenge?
Commit is not candy. If you consume the stop-smoking lozenge too fast or chew and swallow all or part of it, you may experience heartburn or indigestion. If you experience any side effects, you should discontinue use and consult your doctor.
The side effects seen in users are generally moderate and transient. The most common side effects are insomnia (reported in less than 5% of users), nausea, hiccups, coughing, heartburn, headache and flatulence.
When you think about it, its like chewing gum, or eating to fast when you're using these lozenges daily, so air can get trapped and your body releases it through flatulence and burping. So this seems a normal but irritating side effect. I say keep it up, dont go back to smoking...GOOD LUCK!

Commit Stop Smoking Lozenges, 2mg review
I have been a smoker since I was twelve years old. Though I’m not the heaviest smoker out there, at a pack every two or three days, its certainly enough to discourage my kids and husband from sitting too close to me after I’ve had a cigarette! My husband jokes, every time he kisses me, that I’ve just taken a year off his life. Ha ha. But, he has a point. It’s certainly a dirty, disgusting habit, and since he’s seen me quit successfully in the past, just by sheer will, he’s constantly encouraging me to give it a go again. Problem is, I’m a social smoker, I like to smoke when I’m in a crowd, because it gives me something to do with my hands, since I tend to talk by waving them around ridiculously. And, when I’m especially stressed, I tend to find great relief in smoking. I’ve tried chewing gum to curb the desires, and I’ve tried chewing on straws. I’ve tried snapping a rubberband that I keep on my wrist, which a friend of mine recommended, but none of these things were effective in the least.
