Does anyone know the official title of any medical studies or trials that support the argument that smoking causes lung cancer? Also, if anyone knows of an article or example of why animal trials and human trials can have different results, that would be great. I have to research both sides of the debate about smoking and lung cancer.

People in their 70's, 80's and 90's who have smoked all their life, and still smoking. Some of these people are healthy as a horse!

She is absolutely 100% wrong. The type of lung cancer that smokers get was rare until smoking became common.

You can find people who assert there is no such connection, just as you can find contrarians on all positions, and of course there are people who smoke and don't get cancer.
Some people claim that tobacco is the most addictive substance in the world. I don't know if that's true, but I know that tobacco companies have altered certain brands of cigarettes so that smokers are essentially free-basing nicotine.

It is possible that the smoke is irritating your nose. Irritation there will cause minor nose bleeds. Blood from nose bleed can get into mucus.
