How to quit smoking when you smoke a low amount?
NYC Parks, Beaches, and Pedestrian Plazas are now SMOKE-FREE

I had a baby in October 2008. I didn't smoke while pregnant. I have found myself smoking 1-5 cigarettes a day and can't seem to quit..Any tips for quitting completely?

That first responder was obviously high while writing his response....

Anyways, what helped or worked for me was smoking cheaper smokes that taste real bad. I could only handle to light it and then put it out. Averaging about 1-2 smokes per day. It was a re-light festival until I finally decided I just didn't want it anymore. That was after 24 years of smoking and a whole lot more per day than you too so you may see quicker results. A whole lot of it is mind set too. Good Luck

Where can I buy fake cigarettes that you actually smoke to help quit smoking?
Smoke under water

I've been smoking heavily for several years now and I'm looking for various methods to quit smoking. I think my biggest problem isn't the nic fits, it's the physical addiction.

I'm looking for some sort of fake cigarette that you light, and smoke, but contains no nicotine. Best thing I've come up with so far is to buy the fake marijuana substitutes and roll that as a cigarette.
I guess it doesn't have to be something you light, but something to drag on and inhale would be so helpful.

You might try switching to a pipe. Yeah, I know that's still smoking but you don't inhale pipe smoke. I went from 4 packs a day down to about 2 cigarettes a day with a pipe. Quitting smoking a pipe is far easier than cigarettes, though I have no intention of quitting my pipe since I've been doing it for more than thirty years and still enjoy the heck out of it. Early on it got to the point that cigarettes tasted nasty to me after having real tobacco.

I still smoke a cigarette or two because there are places I just can't smoke my pipe. Unlike cigarette smokers, most pipe smokers have to be taught how to do it right or they give up early and go back to cigarettes.

I quit smoking but even being outside near second hand smoke causes headaches. Is it chemical psychological?
Swisscom chasch rauche!

I seem to get migraines for long periods of time and also get dizzy being near smokers and smelling the second hand smoke. I quit smoking 7 months ago.

Congrats on quitting!
I would ask your doctor about it.

How long it takes for traces of cigarette smoke to completely clear the body once u quit?
A man fist full with cigarette

In a few months ill have to undergo a blood test to determine if i have quit smoking cigarettes..i must pass this blood test..

does anyone know how long it takes for traces of cigarette smoke to completely clear the body?
its not for insurance....its for a surgery i want...

Don't worry the nicotine is gone in two weeks or less. That is why tests for life insurance are so easy to fake.

The Yahoo answer even says 3 days:

whats the best way to get cigerette smoke smell out of furniture? also clear the air in house recently quit?
(61/358)

recently quit smoking and would like to get the smoke smell out of the furniture and and the house ive aired the house out alot and its not so bad but I can still smell it on the furniture, I use febreeze daily, any other suggestions?

First, congratulations on quitting smoking...I promise it will get easier - keep the faith!

As for the smoke smell in furniture and carpeting, I would highly suggest good ol' baking soda. Sprinkle it on your furniture and let it sit overnight and vacuum up. Flip the cushions that you can flip and do the other side the next night. You can do the same thing with your carpeting. I think Arm & Hammer also makes a baking soda-based carpet stuff that you vacuum up, too. Continue airing the house out as much as you can and as painful as it sounds, washing and painting the walls will make a HUGE difference in the smell - nicotine sticks to everything so wash your kitchen cabinets, microwave, etc. You'll be surprised how much yellow-y water you have. GOOD LUCK!
