How long after Obama signed the anti-smoking bill did he go out back to the kids playset and lite up a kool?
anti-smoking

Admits he isn't strong enough to quit smoking and yet signs an anti-smoking bill that hurts lower income people. Seems Obama isn't too concerned about imposing spiraling costs on people who are struggling-he has his life set and heck with everyone else.

He was smoking when he signed it more than likely.

How does a lady go from anti-smoking to smoking a pack a day?
Turning Tables

My lovely wife went from being so anti smoking to a smoker. She started about 3 months ago and smokes all the time. She said she started because of stress and all the people at work are constantly smoking. She says she knows it is not good for her but it makes her feel good and it gets her away from it all when she is outside smoking for a few minutes.

I think you've answered your own question. Nicotine is a very seductive drug, and perhaps the most addictive. The reasons for that are complex, but suffice it to say that it not only causes the release of dopamine but keeps it in the synapses longer. It literally reprograms your brain's reward system. Like many other kids and the occasional person who starts as an adult, I was a rabid antismoker before I started, so I know first hand how that works.

How long can I safely take anti-smoking items like Commit? They don't have the chemicals found in cigs etc

I'm getting differing opinions from Doctors. Also , is nicotine (that is in anti-smoking products) by itself that dangerous or just addictive?

anything with "nicotine" is considered not safe to use.. it is not advisable to be on anti smoking stuff for more than 4 months, as you can be come addicted to them....

  • Saskatchewan gov#39;t considers more anti-smoking regulations - Soundoff

Not smoking in a vehicle while transporting minors is just common sense and good parenting.  It is too bad that the government has to spend tax payer money to legislate common sense, but so be it, if it is for the well-being of innocent children.

Banning all smoking on bar or restaurant patios is over-kill.  We have already been banned in Saskatoon from doing so.  If you are talking about outdoor spaces at some bars, you can;t take your drink outside anyway and no servers are out there serving.  Private owners of these establishments should be able to use their own discretion as to whether their patrons can smoke or not.  As an individual, I can make the decision as to whether or not I frequent these establishments.  Whatever happened to the notion of "small government" and the real function it is supposed to perform???
