quit cigarette

In a few months ill have to undergo a blood test to determine if i have quit smoking cigarettes..i must pass this blood test..

does anyone know how long it takes for traces of cigarette smoke to completely clear the body?
its not for insurance....its for a surgery i want...

Don't worry the nicotine is gone in two weeks or less. That is why tests for life insurance are so easy to fake.

I smoke capri 120's the really long skinny one's. I enjoy smoking but I hear it's bad for my health. I'd like to quit, but I'm afraid of gaining weight. I'm 5'6'' I weigh 120lbs and I want to stay that way. How do I quit? (your method can't cost more then I pay for cigarette's ($5.00 every other day) Thanks

I quit cold turkey 4 years ago and with the money I saved I got 4 tattoos (2 at a time) and my new computer--if you put your mind to it you can do it--I'm glad I did because I am recovering from a collapsed lung and they had to remove part of my lung and you should see the nasty looking crap that came out of my lungs and I had already stopped smoking 3 years earlier--so please try to quit for your health!

I would like to see how many people quit smoking but still miss it or they hate it after when you quit smoking?
I am so happy that I quit and don't want to smoke again!

I would smoke a few cigarettes not enough to call myself a smoker, but my late husband did smoke and he was very glad to quit for Jehovah God. when I stand near someone who smokes, they smell so bad. years ago this woman smoked and when I past her, you had to hold your breath because she smelled so bad and she put perfume on top of the smell, it was awful

Gradually lower the nicotine level in the blood
Use Nic-Out untill you quit
Removes over 90% of the tar and reduces nicotine

Don't try to talk me out of the cigarette, I already smoked it, well half of it anyways. Preferably only answers from those who have quit smoking or gone through what I am. I quit cold turkey by the way.

My experience is that "it's only one cigarette" is a slippery slope and before you know it you're back to how much you smoked before. But you did it already, so pick yourself up again and just get back with it. Don't quit quitting!
Also, I've found that the hardest milestones to achieve are the third day, the third week, and the third month. I've never made it to the third year :-( so I don't know about that one.

After two years of being quit, I slipped last night and smoked a couple of cigarettes. I am NOT picking up the habit again but I can't stop this guilty feeling. I feel disappointed in myslef. Can any other former smokers give me some advice or words of encouragement?

I know its easy to feel guilty. I have been in the same boat. Just think of it as a step back. you cant do it over again and not have the cig. so just say ok i had a cig, next time what can i do to make sure i do not fall in that trap again. If you ever do have a cig again, do not feel guilty. I think it happens to alot of ex smokers.
