After 14 years of smoking It's been three days he has been smoke free. His main reason, among many others, is he is going to be a father. I'm looking for a link, maybe from youtube or something similar that I can show my husband for inspiration when he feels like giving up. Something more along of the lines of so and so dying as a result with a touching story. Or Peter Jennings heart felt story. Stuff with data and statistics does very little. All link will be greatly appreciated. I know they are out there, I saw so many growing up but where are they now.
These are really good tips I have heard to stop smoking. Hope they help.
Because a smoker forms the habit of putting something in their mouth, and it's like always a cigarette. you will need something else to put into your mouth, like lollipops.
Have a peppermint each time you crave a cigarette, the craving will go away somehow.
Be sure to have lots of water, the nicotine will wash out within 48 - 72 hours. Let's say, the same amount as some scientist discovered. 6 - 8 glasses a day.
Make sure you get a lot of fresh air and exercise, it will help your brain recover
Have faith. Thinking you can't do it over and over won't help.
Great Video About Smoking and what it does to you Students, Scholars, please feel free to use this video, download it, or share it. It#39;s for ...
Watching videos on lung cancer didn't do it. I've cut down
but it's very hard to quit. I've started some hypnotherapy to
learn to relax and breathe deeply and it's increasing my
desire to quit, but I need some things that were the deciding
factor in helping you quit. Thanks very much.
Believe it or not, I tried all the gimmicks and none of them worked. What worked was putting myself in a position where cigarettes were not available for 4 days. ( In 3 days the craving will peak and start to diminish.) I went camping in the woods without cigarettes.
When I returned home, I ate a lot of sugar free life savers. Whenever I found myself wanting a cigarette, (Fidgeting, After meals, Wish I could say after sex, but wasn't that lucky), I popped a sugar free life saver. I used Sugar Free because I didn't want to gain a lot of weight.
I also avoided the places where I enjoyed smoking. The pool hall, bars, etc.
After 3 months, I no longer had the craving. After 6 months I became one of those reformed smokers that complain about everyone else doing what I used to do.
It takes a lot of will power, Good Luck
Is it just me or does quitting smoking seem like drastically changing your personality. I'm not sure why it's like I'm not as rebellious anymore like I'm caving in to the status quo. I know smoking is bad for me and only makes another big corporation rich. But somehow it's like I'm leaving a cool club or something ridiculous like that. Also what do I do when I'm driving or playing video games those are the two times when I really enjoy smoking (and the bad part is I'm a truck driver so I drive allot and sometimes use cigarettes to stay awake for something to do) Dont get me wrong I've quit before for 6 months starting out with the patch so I know how to quit I just feel like I'm saying goodbye to a part of myself.
you're right.
it is a lifestyle, especially at bars, and, yeah, driving.
it was hard to know that I wouldn't be able to wander off for my little breaks at work.
and what would i do after i ate?
but now, my clothes don't smell like ass, there aren't ashes all over my car, I eat a piece of candy after I eat, and i realize that the "cool" people are reall all just a bunch of turds. and there's nothing that says I can't still wander outside at bars or at work (to talk to the turds :))

You know how pround i am, that your actaully really willing
to try and stop smoking, at a young age there may be alot of stress going on and you turn to a cigaratte, but listen if your sersouis about this, think what will happen to me? will i have an addiction, do stuff go out with friends, try as hard to be nowhere near a cig, walk pass a place that has cigarettes and tell your self im going to do it, i know being 13 and talking to your parents is going to be hard, but if your comforable with telling them, and asking them for help go ahead, but if you feel uncofortamble, talk to a friend, or someone you can trust, or just someone you can talk to, and let it out tell them how you feel,
i smoked when i was 13 too, about 5 cigartte a day but i got caught,
and my mom started talking to me about how my dad started smoking when he was 13 and now he is about 45 and hes still smoking about 1-2 packs a day, imagine that happening to you, its terrible to know that my dad doesnt have long to live, imagine how much your parents would get hurt if you died, or if you get older and you have children one day and a family and you pass away, think about what can happen, and do whatever it takes, ( im always here to talk ) (: good luck
