quit smoking medication

I am considering taking Chantix to help me in quitting smoking. However, I was wondering if anyone was aware of any problems that the drug has fostered or created?

I heard nothing else than 6 times superior nausea frequency.

Some studies are stating that Chantix has the best effectiveness to quit smoking, but I'm not sure about taking drugs to quit smoking... I'll try patches next time I quit !

I'm trying to get my dad to quit and he keeps saying he will year after year, and it's obvious he doesn't have the will power to. So what's the best medication that's worked. I would do nicotine patches but it's just putting more nicotine in your body.

I am on day 8 of Chantix. I've heard wonderful things about this medication, and feel that it may be my only success to quit smoking... I am concerned because I am still smoking on this 8th day (mind you, I am smoking a lot less!) Is this medication meant to make you quit cold turkey without cravings? This was my understanding, but I still have the physical and emotional need to smoke. Is this something that I may need to work on my own as well?!? Because I've never had enough will power to push myself to do ANYTHING before, and dont think I can start now.

Also, just to mention, the side effects have been very rare. The only problem I've noticed is loss of sleep at night. Any responses and/or suggestions would be grateful! Thanks =)~

It's not a magic pill and the side effects will get worse after you quit smoking but continue taking the pill.

My mom has been smoking for thirty-seven years, and she is finally ready to quit. I was wondering if you have any tips for long-time smokers that seriously want to quit -- without the use of medication.. (patches okay)

I have been chewing lots of gum, it helped me. I am 71/2 weeks with no cigs. (smoked from age 13 to 36)
