My dad thinks I smoke pot, I honestly don't. I do however smoke cigarettes. My brother was saying my dad's going to buy a drug test for me to see if I'm smoking weed. Will nicotine show up on it?
My dad thinks that because he's constantly finding lighters on me -- my fault for not hiding them good enough.


If the test is just for weed then all the test should detect is THC, the active ingredient in weed. Nicotine showing up on a weed test is like a metal detector finding a piece of wood in your pocket.

Yes it will show up in your system. However, nicotine is a legal substance and cannot lawfully cost you a job. If a company will not hire you because you are a smoker they are subjecting you to discrimination. That is against the law. The most a company can do legally is mandate no smoking laws in their establishment. If you do not get this prospective job because you smoke, contact your local legislator.
