each cigarette has about 1-2 mg of nicotine and i believe the lozenge to be the same. the idea of nicotine replacement is to wean you off of it slowly. so by wearing the patch and maybe chewing the gum or using the lozenge you meet the same amout of nicotine that you were smoking. after a couple of weeks it is cut back..and it goes on like this until it is no longer needed.

Depends your location I think but I used Quest cigarettes a 3 stage way to withdraw from cigarettes. It goes from Low then extremely low then no nicotine. But be careful when the extreme low and no nicotine you want to smoke more so control yourself. The cigarettes still have the tar so same as others health wise. I want to quit smoking. I hate it. However, I am every anxious and it seems to be my crutch. I do keep busy but when I want one, I WANT ONE. I tried Chantix but it made me crazy. I suffer from depression/anxiety and it does say not to take it if you have these problems. That I know is true. I did it. The patches make me have headaches and rashes. Has anyone tried hypnosis? If so, does it work?
