just trying to find out the difference between a traditional urine test and a new type of drug test that is an oral one with a swab in the mouth.


The swab test is a cell scrapping, it's usually used to detect narcotic substances in the body. Depending on how much of these chemical triggers are passing through your body determines how much of that chemical is housed in the cells of the body. Your mouth is constantly shedding cells from it's lining. And so these cells can accurately show the content of narcotic trigger chemicals are still in the body. This test however can be fooled. Because if you do not use the narcotic for three days before the test the matterials needed to test possitive have already been shed away in the previous cells. So all they do is take a large quantity of these shedding cells and place them through a chemical test to determine if there are narcotic substances in your bloodstream.

oral drug testing blood from canker sore got on the swab! is this going to make me fail the test? anyone know?

I just took my oral drug test about 15 minutes ago while taking the test the applicator swab cut the inside of my mouth were there was a canker sore. Blood got on the swab. Will this doom me from passing the test. I haven't smoked in almost a week. I swished mouthwash and water before i went in the store. Has this ever happened to anyone else?
