How long do drugs stay in the body? I'm planning on asking a family member to take a drug test. Without going into the reasons why, there is a very important reason why I'm doing this and alot rides on the outcome. So before anyone answers i would like that taken into consideration. I know that most drugs don't stay in the urine for very long so my only chance is either a blood test or a hair strand test. How long can drugs ,from cannabis to cocaine etc be detected in the blood or hair? Also I know this person takes morphine by prescription but I've been told she's addicted to it. Will any test show up morphine and can i reliably take a positive morphine result as an addiction or not? Also would it be best to get a home test or can we get it done by a doctor? thanx in advance.

Roryhally, as I said before alot rides on this person testing negative. this person is not my child but other people in your life can have drug problems that have a huge impact on people. So I suggest you stop with the uneducated comments and just answer the question in hand. this is already a very seneitive questio for me and my family and you don't know the details.
Morphine and crack cocaine will not show up after three days with a mouth swab test.
A urine sample takes up to seven days (sooner if they took a reasonably small amount)
With hair strand tests it shows after a much longer period (this is the best way if you want to prove someone has took it now and a while ago.
You can get tests to do at home but I would advise you to see a doctor, or a drug clinic.
Most tests can be tampered with and fooled in some way so I personally would go for the hair strand test.
Morphine will most certainly show up, and most testers test for it.
One positive is not enough to determine whether there is an addiction. Even if you believe the person to be addicted I would advise you run a series of tests.
Cannabis will stay in the system for up to 28 days.
Drugs like ecstasy and speed are roughly follow the same pattern as heroine,crack cocaine and cocaine.

I'm being drug tested randomly my the county (also on probation). On the paper on which they record my results, the standard 5 panel drugs were listed. However, the man only used one test strip in my urine and only wrote my results beside weed, the drug I was charged with. Is this confirmation that I am only being tested for weed? Or can one test strip test for multiple drugs?
It depends on what they want to test for. Where I work they use a 10 panel test. And it was done with on strip. I work in the medical field
