"C" reactive protein blood test may be requested to check general inflammation in a person's circulatory system. I need to request this test in Mexico, hence I need the Spanish language translation.
I need the "C" reactive protein blood test, please.

according to a bloodtest result i have high levels of c reactive protein in blood. I have what is like a inflammation in my face ie like an infection but my doctor says its fibomyalgia. What causes me to feel so ill and have throbbing pains in my head and feel like its on fire.I initially thought it was sinusitis. Also my neck clicks and makes noises like meat tearing when I rotate it but again gp says its Fibroidmyalgia-but im wondering about rheumatoid athritis any suggestions? thanks
I looked this up in my Diagnotics book for nurses and this is what I found.
C- reactive protein or CRP is an abnormal specific glycoprotein ( consists of carbohydrates & proteins)produced by the liver and excreted into blood.
Purpose of this test -
To detect the acute phase of inflammatory disease, such as exacerbations of rheumatoid arthritis and rheumatic fever.
And to monitor response to therapy, especially in acute rheumatic fever and rheumatoid arthritis.
The presence of CRP in serum indicates an acute inflammatory condition (tissue reaction to injury resulting from infectious or noninfectious causes).
A positive test for CRP commonly occurs in bacterial infections, such as TB and pneumococcal pneumonia, and in many noninfectious inflammatory conditions, like acute rheumatic fever, acute rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, malignancy, and myocardial infarction (condition caused by acclusion of one or more of the coronary arteries)
Postive CRP occurs during the last half of pregnancy and also accompanies the use of oral contraceptives, making detection of concomitant ( accessory; taking the place at the same time) inflammation difficult.
I think you are right! I got all of this info right out of my diagnotics book. Make a copy and take it to him or her. Guess they didn't read their book.
Can only be sold in the United States.
Cannot be sold in the state of New York.
i had some blood test done.what is a C- reactive protein test? is it for immune system test i had a ana test antinuclear antibody test and that was negative. my C- reactive protein test was.0.7 is that good or bad.please explain what they look for.so does this mean i dont have autoimmune disease? ana negative and all the other test were normal. please help
A CRP test is a test for proteins that develop during inflammation. A high CRP does not indicate any particular disease, only that there is the likelihood that inflammation is present.
The normal reference range for CRP is "Less than 5 or 6", so 0.7 is perfectly normal. However, there are a lot of other factors that go into deciding if someone has a disease or not, this test doesn't rule anything out or confirm anything,
ANA is along the same lines. People often develop these antibodies if they have autoimmune disease, but not always. There are also situations that there is a positive ANA test, but no autoimmune disease. They're both helpful tests, but not diagnostic.
Hope this helps!

A C-reactive protein(globulin) is a protein that is found in people who have inflammatory, degenerative and neoplastic diseases. (It shows up with long-term low-grade inflammation) A high level predicts stroke and atherosclerosis(hardening of the arteries due to cholesterol)
supposed to be 5 or below, if so thats one hell of a difference, also plasma viscocity was hi: 2.24, wbc high 12.6, platelet count high 551, mean platelet volume low 7.7, neutrophil count high 9.2 and eoainophil count high 0.52. can any one decipher any of this for me? thanks.
CRP is an indicator that there is inflammation SOMEwhere in the body. Recent studies have also shown it is correlated as a indicator or future heart problems, but this is not yet proven, currently just a theory. Your WBC is a little bit high, normal is up to 11. Nothing to be TOO concerned about. Platelet count is high, which is the most concerning. Platelets are responsible for clotting the blood, and if your count it TOO high, it can clot and cause a stroke, heart attack, etc.
I am not sure what condition would cause this honestly, that is too advanced for me and my nursing degree! Haha. That's why doctors get paid the big bucks.
I hope things work out for you, and don't be afraid to ask your doctor questions. That's why he's getting paid! Good luck hun!
INPUT NEEDED: Which blood tests do I ask for? - Diabetes Forums
I would think we all need baseline tests for C Peptide levels, kidney functions, including a microalbuminuria,A1C and liver functions. I wish I had known to ask for a C Peptide at the onset of my diagnosis in March 09. I would be able to compare results with a C Peptide done now. My understanding of a microalbuminuria test is it will show early kidney damage from elevated blood glucose. My family Dr. requested this. When I asked for a C Peptide test from the endocrinologist I saw one time only, she replied" We expect your C Peptide level to be high". Without the tests, how do you know how high is high? Good luck with your appointment and testing. I so appreciate what this forum has taught...
