I read a post made by a certified urine tester and breath analyzer that urine tests are for drugs such as marijuana, amphetamines, etc. and alcohol tests are breath tests which are accurate up to ten hours. Is this the correct method and factual information for the following tests due to probation?
urine tests for alcohol are very unreliable. breath tests by hand held devices are used strictly as a screening device. most clinics will screen someone before a more costly blood test for court. also evidential breathalyzer machines can cost thousands of dollars.
Most clinics that i've talked to regarding this subject use the alcoscan al7000 premium model to screen clients first. the best part about this model besides the accuracy, is that one could swap the sensor without sending the unit in for calibration.

I recently got put on probation and have to submit to random alcohol/drug tests. I don't undestand what it means when they say alcohol test either. I'm a college student and unfortunately I'm not of age to drink but it's hard not to occasionally when I'm surrouned by it all the time. I have been freaking out because I don't know what is going to happen. If I do drink how long will the alcohol stay in my system? How in depth are these tests? I will be 21 in a couple months and I don't need to drink either so please don't judge me. I'm just a college student and I like to have fun and sometimes enjoy drinking. I'm just worried that I will drink and then get busted by this test. Any info or advice or anything will help me out but please don't judge or give answers telling me that I don't have to drink. I already know I don't have to but I like to every once in a while so please just straight forward answers or advice please. Thanks.
The man will pop up one day and say blow in this tube and pee in this cup. Fail either one and you are in violation of your probation and probation can be revoked and you go to jail. If you can't figure this out on your own you have no business being in college.
I am starting a new job and they do drug and alcohol testing...i will pass the drug test just fine and i am sure the alcohol test too but just to be sure...how long does alcohol remain in the system?
good question my friend works for southwest and they do alcohol testing as well, if they do blood or urine test it takes 24 to 48 hours usually 24, if it is hair follicle testing they can tell a year or two back
can anyone who has been on probation who has had screenings tell me what is the time frame for alcohol to be detected in a urinalysis.

Fact # 1- In 1984, Boston Firefighters Local 718 was one of the first unions in the country to institute a drug and alcohol testing program. The policy is known as reasonable suspicion. Under the policy, if a supervisor suspects a firefighter of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol they are automatically tested. If the test comes back positive, the firefighter is immediately suspended without pay for a period of 30 days and remanded into the Employee Assistance Program. If the firefighter tests positive for a second time in their career, he or she is terminated. This policy became a model throughout the country.
