I was just told by my doctor my A1C test for glucose came back high, does this mean I have diabetes? I go back to meet with the doctor this week, but am wondering what this means?


HbA1C is not a test for diagnosing diabetes it tell how well you have managed your blood glucose for the last three months.

For diabetes dignosis you should go for fasting blood glucose. random blood glucose or OGTT.

if I brush my teeth during fasting for my a1c globulin test will it give a false reading?

I was wondering if there was anything in the toothpaste that would increase the glucose levels beyond what they actually are.The a1c globulin test is a diabetic test. The fasting is 12 to 14 hrs.I scored 158, which means I have diabetes.


Absolutely no. A1c will detect your diabetes control for the last 3 month. So, it has no effect at all.

I am a type 2 diabetic needing to get my A1C test done is there any home tests you get get here in the states?

the thing is i am from England and dont have a doctor here, but would like to see if it is under control. But if i was to go and see a doc here i have to pay a first time fee of like $200 then test etc. I just want the a1c test
